Wayne New Jersey Shoplifting SuspectWayne NJ police are looking for a woman accused of stealing a laptop computer from a local business.

The theft incident reportedly occurred just before 10:00 p.m., when the store was set to close. According to law enforcement, the suspect stole the computer from a business located in a shopping complex on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, New Jersey.

The owner of the business dialed 911 and alerted the Wayne Police Department. By the time Wayne NJ cops arrived at the scene, however, the suspect was long gone.

Wayne NJ investigators obtained video surveillance images from the store that reportedly show the suspect walking into the building, perusing the shelves, and then leaving the store while carrying the laptop computer.

Wayne NJ police recently released the surveillance photographs with the hope that a member of the public may be able to recognize the suspect and provide a tip about her whereabouts.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-5 woman who may be either a teenager or a young adult. When the suspect allegedly committed the theft, she was wearing a blouse with long sleeves, dark shorts, and flip-flops.

If police are eventually able to identify and locate the suspect, she would probably be charged with shoplifting. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:20-11(b), a person who steals property valued at more than $500 can be charged with a third degree criminal offense. A conviction for third degree shoplifting could result in a sentence of 3-5 years in NJ State Prison.

Paterson New Jersey Handgun LawyersPaterson New Jersey police officers fatally shot a man accused of illegally possessing a handgun while walking on a city street.

The tragic incident unfolded around 2:00 a.m. near the intersection of Oak Street and Summit Street in Paterson, NJ. Paterson NJ police officers had been sent to the area after getting a report of a man carrying a firearm.

Police officers found the man and a confrontation ensued, with police and the suspect exchanging gunfire. The victim was killed after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in the altercation.

Authorities later identified the victim as a longtime resident of Paterson who had recently moved to Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. The victim was 36 years old at the time of his death.

Family members of the victim talked to the media after the police shooting and said that the victim used to live near the area where the fatal shooting occurred.

One of the victim’s friend spoke with the media and said that the victim was struggling with a lot of person stuff – “family issues and financial issues” – the days preceding the fatal shootout with police.

Since the police shooting resulted in a fatality, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is actively investigating the incident. The day after the fatal shooting, police investigators were at the scene and looking for evidence.

Paterson New Jersey Homicide LawyersA man from Rockaway Township will be spending several years in state prison after he pleaded guilty to causing a fatal car crash on a New Jersey highway. The suspect entered his guilty plea in Passaic County Superior Court in Paterson, NJ.

The suspect pleaded guilty to multiple criminal charges, including vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.

The charges stemmed from a February 2014 accident on Route 46 in Rockaway Township, New Jersey. The suspect was driving a 2010 Dodge Charge when he crashed into the victim’s vehicle, causing the victim to slam into his windshield.

Afterwards, the suspect drove off and headed away from the scene of the car crash. When the suspect reached Route 80, he dialed 911 to alert law enforcement to the accident.

The suspect was later arrested and reportedly registered a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.167 percent, more than twice the legal limit in New Jersey. The blood test results led to additional charges for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

The victim in the fatal accident was just 24 years of age. Even worse, he had a child on the way when he was tragically killed.

Since the car accident occurred in Rockaway Township, the case was initially slated to be handled by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. However, a conflict of interest (the suspect’s mother worked in the Morris County Superior Court) resulted in the case being transferred to Passaic County, New Jersey.

In April 2016, the suspect appeared in Passaic County Superior Court, located in Paterson NJ, and pleaded guilty to charges for vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.

The suspect recently made another appearance in the Paterson courthouse and was officially sentenced for his crimes. The Passaic County Superior Court judge sentenced the suspect to an eight-year prison term: five years for the vehicular homicide charges and three years for leaving the scene of the accident.

Wayne New Jersey Robbery SuspectsWayne NJ police arrested three more individuals in connection with the violent assault of a person at a motel.

The brutal attack was committed at the Wayne Motor Inn, a local motel located along Route 23 in Wayne, New Jersey. According to law enforcement, the suspects were part of a group that assaulted the victim with a baseball bat. The suspects reportedly waited for the victim to arrive at the Wayne NJ motel and then struck him in the head and the face. After the assault, the suspects allegedly stole money and jewelry from the victim.

Someone who was with the victim when the robbery and assault went down dialed 911 and notified the Wayne Police Department. Emergency medical responders soon arrived at the scene and transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Doctors at the hospital provided medical treatment for a head wound.

Not long after the attack, a Wayne police officer saw one of the suspects, a 24-year-old Wanaque man. The officer arrested the suspect without incident.

Now another three suspects – two males and one female – have been placed under arrest.

The male suspects include an 18-year-old who lives in Pompton Lakes NJ and another 18-year-old who resides in Haskell NJ. The female suspect is a 19-year-old who is from Oak Ridge, New Jersey.

All three suspects face numerous criminal charges, including aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1 stipulates that anyone who uses a deadly weapon, like a handgun, a knife, or a baseball bat, while committing a theft can be charged with a first degree criminal offense. A conviction on first degree armed robbery charges could result in a sentence of 10-20 years in New Jersey State Prison. Moreover, since violent crimes such as armed robbery are covered under the New Jersey No Early Release Act (NERA), a person who is convicted of this crime would have to serve a minimum of 85 percent of their prison sentence before they would be eligible for parole.

Paterson NJ Food Stamp Fraud ChargesPassaic County police arrested the owner of a pizzeria in Paterson NJ and charged him with committing food stamp fraud.

According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect and his wife operate Piccolo’s Pizza & Liquors on Main Street in Paterson, New Jersey. The husband and wife suspects are accused of defrauding the government by buying food stamps at a discounted price. This is a violation of several statutes which stipulate that food stamps can only be purchased by specific individuals who have been approved by the government.

The suspects allegedly bought the food stamps for 60 cents on the dollar and then used then to purchase personal items and supplies for their pizza restaurant.

The pizzeria owners allegedly committed the fraud between January 2015 and February 2016. According to authorities, the suspects purchased food stamps from customers who had received the food stamps electronically from the Passaic County Board of Social Services.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Financial Crimes Unit and the North East Regional Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Agriculture worked together on the investigation after getting a tip from the Passaic County Board of Social Services. Investigators eventually determined that enough evidence existed to arrest and charge the suspects.

The male suspect is 66 years old and the female suspect is 69 years old. They are married to each other and reside in North Haledon, NJ.

The suspects have been charged with several crimes, including food stamp fraud, conspiracy to commit food stamp fraud, theft by deception, and conspiracy to commit theft by deception.

Paterson NJ Drug Distribution LawyersPassaic County NJ police recently arrested two people accused of possessing heroin at a residence in Paterson, New Jersey.

The Passaic County Sheriff’s Office sent detectives to the area of Mill Street and Slater Street in Paterson NJ after law enforcement got a complaint about illegal drug sales at a local home.

The narcotics detectives conducted surveillance in the neighborhood and allegedly saw a woman walk down Mill Street and knock on the door of a house. A man then emerged from the home and allegedly handed her drugs in exchange for cash. The illegal drugs were reportedly contained in small bundles.

When the female suspect left the house, Passaic County NJ detectives stopped her and conducted a search that reportedly revealed 12 bundles of heroin. Each bundle of heroin reportedly had 10 glassine envelopes, which is how heroin is often sold on the street.

Passaic County police then approached the Mill Street home and noticed the male suspect running to the second floor of the residence. Police officers eventually placed the suspect under arrest.

A search of the residence allegedly turned up 29 bricks of heroin, with the bricks containing another 1,500 glassine envelopes. Passaic County NJ officials estimate that the heroin seized by authorities has a street value of approximately $7,000.

During the search of the residence, police also reportedly discovered 59 zip-lock baggies containing crack cocaine.

The female suspect is an 18-year-old from Paterson, NJ. She has been charged with possession of heroin.

The male suspect is a 19-year-old from Paterson. He has been charged with numerous drug crimes, including distribution of heroin, possession of heroin, and possession of crack cocaine. He also faces criminal charges for resisting arrest.

Paterson New Jersey Heroin ChargesPassaic County law enforcement recently arrested a records clerk with the Paterson Police Department. The woman was accused of distributing heroin out of her home in Paterson, New Jersey.

Authorities opened an investigation after they got a tip that the suspect was selling illegal drugs from her residence. Passaic County Sheriff’s Office detectives later went to the suspect’s residence, which is located on 12th Avenue in Paterson NJ, and executed a search warrant.

During the subsequent drug raid, narcotics detectives reportedly discovered 330 glassine envelopes of heroin. Officials said that the seized heroin has an estimated street value of roughly $1,250.

Passaic County detectives also reportedly seized $1,808 in cash, which they believe represents the proceeds from illegal sales of drugs.

The 42-year-old suspect, a female who is employed in the Paterson Police Department records office, has been charged with a number of very serious drug crimes. Among the criminal charges against the suspect are possession of heroin with intent to distribute and possession of heroin.

While the criminal charges are pending, internal affairs for the Paterson Police Department is investigating the suspect. At this time, she has been suspended without pay from her job in the records office.

Paterson New Jersey Heroin AttorneysPassaic County authorities recently seized a large amount of drugs from a suspected heroin mill in Paterson, NJ.

Passaic County Sheriff’s Office detectives spotted the suspect’s vehicle, a black Infiniti, driving on East 28th Street at 11th Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey. The narcotics detectives saw what they believed to be drug activity inside the car and decided to pull over the vehicle.

During a subsequent search of the motor vehicle, police allegedly came across 10 bricks of heroin, with each brick containing 50 glassines of the illegal drug.

Passaic County law enforcement then went to the suspect’s Lafayette Street residence and conducted another search. During this search, police allegedly found another 78 bricks of heroin, two bags filled with raw heroin, and drug-packaging materials.

The total street value of the heroin found in the suspect’s home and car is said to be approximately $20,000.

The suspect, who resides in Paterson New Jersey, was arrested and charged with several drug offenses, including maintaining a heroin production facility, heroin possession, and drug paraphernalia possession.

After being placed under arrest, the suspect was processed at Paterson Police Department headquarters. He was later transferred to the Passaic County Jail in Paterson, NJ.

Paterson NJ Sexual Assault SuspectA Paterson New Jersey man has been accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl and showing pornographic videos to a 12-year-old boy.

According to Passaic County NJ prosecutors, the suspect committed the sexual assault in Paterson, NJ.

When law enforcement first learned about the sex crime allegations against the suspect, they began an investigation. Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit detectives talked to the victim and eventually placed the suspect under arrest.

During the course of the investigation, detectives reportedly learned that the suspect may have shown porn videos to an underage boy. This is said to have happened at least twice.

The suspect, a 33-year-old male who lives in Paterson, NJ, faces several criminal charges, including sexual assault and child endangerment.

The suspect recently appeared in Passaic County Superior Court in Paterson NJ. The case will now be sent to a grand jury for possible indictment on the sex crime charges.

If the grand jury indicts the suspect, his case could head to trial. The penalties for a conviction at trial would be severe: N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2(b) and N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2(c) classify sexual assault as a second degree crime. A conviction for second degree sexual assault could result in a sentence of 5-10 years in NJ State Prison. Beyond that, the suspect would potentially be required to register as a convicted sex offender under Megan’s Law.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was taken to the Passaic County Jail. He was being held at the jail on a $300K bail amount. If the suspect is able to secure his release on bail, he would likely be barred from any contact with minors as long as the criminal charges against him are pending.

Clifton New Jersey Sex Crime SuspectA former teacher at Clifton High School was recently stripped of his teaching licenses after he pleaded guilty to sex offense charges.

The victim in the case was a 17-year-old female student at the high school in Clifton, New Jersey.

The suspect was accused of committing the sexual offenses on a number of occasions while he was employed as a science teacher at the Clifton New Jersey school. The suspect worked at Clifton High School for more than seven years.

According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect sexually touched the victim several times on school property. Prosecutors also said that the suspect harassed the victim and made numerous inappropriate sexual remarks to the victim.

As soon as the victim came forward to alert authorities to the sex crime allegations, the Clifton Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a joint investigation into the suspect. Law enforcement eventually arrested the suspect and charged him with multiple criminal offenses, including criminal sexual contact, endangering the welfare of a child, and official misconduct.

The suspect, who lives in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey, avoided trial in the case by reaching a plea deal with Passaic County prosecutors. The suspect pleaded guilty to criminal sexual contacted.

The plea agreement calls for the suspect to be sentenced to a term of incarceration of six months in the local county jail. Beyond that, the suspect will be placed on probation for a period of two years after he secures his release from jail. Additionally, the suspect will be required to register as a convicted sex offender under Megan’s Law.

Under the terms of the plea agreement, the suspect also had to forfeit all of his NJ teaching certificates. The New Jersey Board of Examiners has now revoked the suspect’s teaching licenses in the State of New Jersey.
