Wanaque NJ Domestic Violence SuspectA Ringwood New Jersey man has been charged with several crimes after being shot by a Wanaque police officer who responded to an alleged domestic violence incident involving the suspect.

The violent incident went down at 2:00 a.m. on July 12, 2016. The Wanaque Police Department sent officers to a Wanaque NJ residence after getting a call about a man brandishing a knife and threatening a woman at the home.

According to Passaic County prosecutors, the suspect became physical and violent with his girlfriend and tried to harm her with a knife. When two other individuals at the house tried to intervene and help the victim, the suspect allegedly threatened them too.

When Wanaque NJ cops showed up at the house, they saw the suspect holding a knife. According to law enforcement, the suspect threatened at least one of the Wanaque NJ police officers.

The violent incident ended when a Wanaque NJ police officer used his police-issued gun to shoot the suspect.

The suspect was later transported to a local hospital, where doctors provided him with urgent medical care for his gunshot wounds. Thankfully, nobody else at the residence suffered injuries as a result of the domestic violence incident.

The suspect is a 28-year-old man who lives in Ringwood, New Jersey. He now faces criminal charges for multiple domestic violence-related offenses, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and terroristic threats. The suspect also faces charges for aggravated assault, weapons offenses, and terroristic threats in connection with his alleged attack on the Wanaque police officer.

If the suspect is eventually convicted of aggravated assault, he could be subject to significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1(b), anyone who commits an assault against a police officer can be charged with a second degree felony. A conviction on second degree aggravated assault charges could lead to a sentence of 5-10 years in NJ State Prison.

The suspect is being held at the Passaic County Jail on a bail amount of $750,000.

Clifton New Jersey Robbery SuspectPolice in Clifton NJ are searching for a man accused of committing sexual assault at a local restaurant.

The suspect allegedly committed the sexual offense on July 6 at The Hot Grill, a popular restaurant located in Clifton, NJ. According to Passaic County officials, the suspect sexually touched an underage girl at the diner.

The victim is a 15-year-old girl who was standing at the counter with her mother when the suspect reportedly walked by and made an “obscene remark” about the underage girl.

The suspect then reportedly walked away and left the restaurant, only to return a few moments later and sexually touch the underage victim. Clifton police later described the incident this way: the suspect “engaged in an abrupt act of sexual contact with the juvenile female.”

Afterwards, the suspect reportedly exited the diner once against and tried to flee the scene on foot.

The Clifton Police Department actively investigated the sex crime and sought help from the public in identifying the suspect. Clifton detectives released a description of the suspect: he is said to be a middle-aged white man with “bug eyes.”

If Clifton NJ cops are eventually able to identify and capture the suspect, he would probably face criminal charges for criminal sexual contact of a minor. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3(b), a person who commits an act of sexual contact with a victim between the ages of 13 and 16 can be charged with a fourth degree crime. A conviction for fourth degree criminal sexual contact could result in a sentence of up to 18 months in NJ State Prison.

Wayne NJ Armed Robbery SuspectWayne New Jersey police recently arrested a local man accused of using a handgun to commit an armed robbery outside a ShopRite grocery store.

According to law enforcement, the robbery went down around midnight in the parking lot of the ShopRite grocery store on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, NJ.

The suspect is a 19-year-old male from Wayne, New Jersey. He reportedly walked up to the victim just outside the ShopRite grocery store, where the victim was standing while he waited for his girlfriend to end her work shift.

The suspect allegedly lifted up his shirt to reveal a handgun, which he then grabbed and pointed at the victim. The suspect then allegedly ordered the victim to give him cash and other valuables.

The victim then fought back and grabbed a knife that he carries around for protection. The suspect reportedly ran off and got into a silver Lexus SUV that was parked in the ShopRite parking lot. The suspect was seen driving away and headed in the direction of Pike Drive and Ratzer Road in Wayne, NJ.

The victim contacted the Wayne Police Department, which sent police officers to the scene to look for the suspect. A short time later, a Wayne New Jersey cop spotted the suspect wearing bloody clothing and walking along Ratzer Road.

The suspect was arrested and charged with first degree armed robbery.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted on the first degree armed robbery charges, he would be subject to significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1, a defendant convicted of committing a theft while using a deadly weapon like a handgun or knife can be sentenced to 10-20 years in New Jersey State Prison.

The suspect allegedly committed the homicide on June 25, 2016. According to law enforcement, the suspect used a large knife to stab and kill the victim at a residence on East 16th Street in Paterson, New Jersey.

The victim was a 49-year-old man who resided in Paterson, NJ. He was found in a basement bedroom at the home and was subsequently transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center. Doctors at the hospital tried valiantly to save the victim and treat him for multiple stab wounds; however, the victim was pronounced dead just over an hour after the violent attack.

Detectives with the Paterson Police Department investigated the tragic killing and identified the suspect as the person who probably committed the homicide. Within just a few weeks of starting the investigation, Paterson NJ police found the suspect and arrested him.

The suspect, a 29-year-old man, is said to reside on the streets in Paterson NJ. He reportedly used to live at a home located on Highland Street in Paterson, New Jersey.

If the suspect is convicted on the murder charges, he would be subject to severe penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, murder is a first degree felony and carries the most significant penalties in the NJ Criminal Code. A conviction for first degree murder could lead to a sentence of life imprisonment in NJ State Prison, with a minimum mandatory term of incarceration of 30 years in prison.

According to law enforcement, the violent incident went down around 2:00 a.m. at a home on Alexander Avenue in Wanaque, NJ. Police got a call about a domestic violence matter at the house and sent officers with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Shooting Response Team to the area.

When police officers arrived at the residence, they reportedly saw that the suspect was armed with “a big knife.” Moreover, said police, the suspect was threatening to harm the female victim at the house.

A witness later talked to the local New Jersey media and said that a Passaic County NJ police officer shot the suspect as he approached the cop. The witness also told reporters that the suspect seemed to be suicidal and mentally unstable in the moments leading up to the police shooting.

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has not yet provided an official update on the status of the suspect.

If the suspect survived the police shooting, he will probably be subject to criminal charges for aggravated assault and terroristic threats. Additionally, the suspect will also likely have to address the domestic violence situation at a restraining order hearing.

Paterson New Jersey Shooting SuspectPassaic County law enforcement recently apprehended a Paterson New Jersey man accused of committing a non-fatal shooting on a city street.

Police officers made the arrest around 3:20 a.m. in Paterson, NJ. Two Passaic County Sheriff’s officers were reportedly on patrol near Oxford Street and North 9th Street when they stopped a car for an alleged traffic violation.

When the Passaic County police officers moved toward the vehicle, they saw that the car’s exterior had bullet holes and other gunfire-related damage.

Police peered inside the car and noticed that a passenger was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The 25-year-old Paterson NJ man was rushed to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where doctors treated him for his injuries.

Passaic County NJ police talked to the victim and soon identified the suspect, also a 25-year-old Paterson man, as the person responsible for the shooting.

The suspect allegedly used a handgun to shoot the victim while he was walking along Lawrence Street in Paterson, NJ.

Passaic County officers later found the suspect walking in the area of Montgomery Park, which is nearby the spot of the alleged shooting incident.

When police searched the suspect, they allegedly discovered a large .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol that had been defaced.

The suspect was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing. He has been charged with multiple crimes, including attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons offenses.

Paterson New Jersey Sex Crime SuspectPaterson New Jersey police recently arrested a registered sex offender accused of possessing and distributing child pornography on his computer.

According to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was previously prohibited from using any computer without first obtaining authorization from law enforcement officials. The Passaic County Internet Crime Unit found out that the suspect was reportedly using his personal computer to download and share child pornography files over the Internet.

Passaic County Internet Crime Unit detectives started an investigation into the suspect’s alleged illegal activity, with the investigation lasting roughly two months. Police eventually determined that the suspect may have violated Megan’s Law sex offender registration requirements and the terms of his release from prison by using a computer to download 31 files of illicit sexual images of minors. The sexualized images of children were reportedly found on the suspect’s computer, which was seized from his home by Passaic County detectives.

The 29-year-old suspect, who lives in Paterson, NJ, was arrested in December 2006 and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a minor. The victim in that sexual offense case was under the age of 18 but older than 13. After reaching a plea deal with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office in 2009, the suspect was sentenced to significant time behind bars in New Jersey State Prison.

The suspect’s eventual release from prison came with certain conditions. For example, the suspect had to undergo mandatory supervision by police until June 2020. Additionally, the suspect was placed on parole for the remainder of his life, with one of the parole requirements including a stipulation that the suspect could only use a computer and access the Internet by first getting authorization from a parole supervisor.

The suspect’s alleged violations of the sex offender registration requirements and the terms of his parole could lead to significant prison time. Additionally, the suspect faces severe criminal penalties if he is convicted on the new charges for possessing child pornography, distributing child pornography, and maintaining a file sharing program for the purpose of storing child pornography.

Paterson NJ Heroin Distribution LawyersPaterson New Jersey law enforcement recently arrested a local man accused of possessing large amounts of illegal drugs, in addition to an illegal handgun.

However, when the suspect noticed the police officers, he allegedly fled the scene and ran into a nearby apartment building. Paterson NJ police officers followed the suspect inside the building and upstairs. Police eventually located him hiding in an apartment on the third floor.

Paterson detectives later searched the apartment and allegedly found 1,107 glassines filled with heroin and 48 vials filled with crack cocaine. Police officers also allegedly came across an unregistered .380-caliber Jennings handgun. The gun was reportedly loaded with ammunition.

The suspect is a 19-year-old male who resides in Prospect Park, New Jersey. He faces numerous criminal charges, including distribution of heroin, possession of crack cocaine, and illegal possession of a handgun.

Clifton NJ Burglary SuspectClifton NJ police recently arrested a man accused of attempting to commit a robbery at a local station.

According to Passaic County NJ law enforcement, the break-in and theft incident occurred just before midnight at the Delta Gas station on Main Avenue in Clifton, NJ. The suspect reportedly smashed his way through a front door entrance at the gas station and then tried to steal money from the store cash register. Moreover, the suspect allegedly attempted to steal cigarette packs from the gas station.

The Clifton Police Department got a report of a break-in at the Delta Gas station and sent police officers to the scene. When police arrived at the gas station, they saw what appeared to be significant damage to the front entrance.

Once inside the gas station, Clifton NJ police officers reportedly found the suspect behind the counter. The suspect allegedly tried to convince the officers that he worked at the business, but the police officers quickly figured out that he was not an employee.

The suspect is a 21-year-old male who lives in Clifton, New Jersey. He was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with multiple criminal offenses, including burglary, theft of movable property, and criminal mischief.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was transported to the Passaic County Jail. He was being held at the correctional facility in lieu of a $20,000 bail amount.

Paterson New Jersey Handgun LawyersPaterson NJ police recently arrested a man accused of possessing an unregistered handgun while driving on a city road.

Police officers made the arrest just after 5:00 a.m. According to law enforcement, Paterson New Jersey patrol cops noticed a motorist swerving between lanes on the roadway and generally driving erratically.

When the Paterson NJ police officers stopped the suspect’s car, a black Ford Fusion with license plates from Pennsylvania, they ran a check on the motor vehicle and discovered that it was not properly registered. The Paterson NJ police officers also found out that the 25-year-old driver had an active arrest warrant. The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest.

While arrested the suspect, police reportedly detected the odor of alcohol coming from the suspect’s vehicle. At one point, a police officer allegedly saw a passenger inside the car attempt to kick an open container of alcohol underneath the backseat.

Later, when the passenger got out of the vehicle, he allegedly had a handgun poking out of shirt pocket. Police subsequently searched the passenger and reportedly found him carrying a defaced black SigSauer 9mm handgun.

The 22-year-old suspect, who is from Paterson, NJ, faces numerous criminal charges, including unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a defaced firearm.

The suspect has also been charged with resisting arrest because he allegedly tried to evade arrest and flee the scene before being subdued by police officers.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted on the illegal handgun possession charges, he would be subject to severe penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:39-5, anyone who knowingly possesses a handgun without having obtained a valid permit to carry the firearm can be charged with a third degree criminal offense. A conviction for third degree unlawful possession of a weapon could result in a sentence of 3-5 years in NJ State Prison.
