If police can eventually determine the identity of the shooter, he would probably face serious charges for aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Paterson New Jersey Homicide AttorneysPaterson NJ police are trying to determine the identity of a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man at a gas station.

The victim was shot just before 6:00 p.m. at a gas station near Route 20 and 1st Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey. The Paterson Police Department got a call about gunshots fired in the area and sent cops to the scene. The Hawthorne Police Department also sent police officers to the area to provide assistance.

When Paterson New Jersey cops got to the gas station, they found the victim lying on the pavement and suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical responders transported the victim via ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where doctors attempted to save his life. Tragically, doctors could not save the victim; he was later pronounced dead.

Paterson Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale issued a statement indicated that Paterson detectives are currently investigating the homicide and trying to figure out the identity of the shooter. At this time, law enforcement officials have not publicly released the identity of the victim because his family members still need to be notified.

If police can eventually determine who committed the homicide, the culprit would likely face first degree murder charges. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, murder carries a minimum penalty of 30 years in New Jersey State Prison and a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

Passaic County Shoplifting SuspectsPolice arrested two men who allegedly shoplifted from several Home Depot stores in Passaic County, including stores located in Paterson, Clifton, Totowa, and Passaic.

The two suspects are from Garfield and Paterson, respectively. According to law enforcement, the suspects began their theft spree on December 13 when they stole drill sets from the Home Depot in Paterson, NJ.

The suspects allegedly committed similar thefts at Home Depots elsewhere in Passaic County, New Jersey.

The Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division conducted an investigation into the crime spree and got surveillance video footage that reportedly showed the suspects stealing from one of the stores.

Police eventually arrested the suspects while they were allegedly shoplifting from a store located in Passaic, NJ.
When the suspects were arrested, police reportedly found them carrying heroin. It is believed that the suspects committed the theft offenses to finance their drug habits.

The suspects face serious criminal charges for third degree shoplifting. If they are convicted of third degree shoplifting, they would each face a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Paterson NJ Armed Robbery ChargesA Paterson man accused of robbing numerous grocery stores in the city is now going to prison after he pleaded guilty to criminal charges for armed robbery.

The suspect is a 27-year-old resident of Paterson, New Jersey. He used a 9mm handgun to hold up grocery stores located throughout Paterson in November 2012. While committing the theft offenses, the suspect brandished the firearm and threatened store workers.

The suspect was apprehended by police and charged with numerous crimes, including seven counts of armed robbery and unlawful possession of a handgun.

While the charges were pending, the suspect tampered with a juror and also threatened the dad of his co-defendant. This led to prosecutors filing additional criminal charges for jury tampering and terroristic threats.

The suspect was able to avoid trial in the case by reaching a plea deal with Passaic County NJ prosecutors.

In June 2017, the suspect will have to appear in Passaic County Superior Court so that a judge can approve his plea agreement. It is expected that prosecutors will recommend that the suspect be sentenced to a term of incarceration of 20 years in NJ State Prison.

In 2016, there were 5,060 crimes reported in Paterson, New Jersey. That was a significant improvement over the previous year. Beyond that, the total number of reported crimes in Paterson in 2016 was the lowest figure in 25 years.

Aggravated assaults and robberies were among the types of crimes that declined in 2016.

The improved crime stats in Paterson NJ have been credited to new law enforcement strategies, including targeted patrols focusing on parts of the city with high amounts of gang violence and other criminal activity.

After news of the crime statistics was released, Paterson Police Department Director Jerry Speziale issued a statement and said that local police will “continue to work together to find new and innovative approaches to further reduce crime.”

Paterson NJ Murder Suspects ChargedPaterson New Jersey authorities recently filed murder charges against three suspects who are believed to have been responsible for two unrelated shootings.

The first homicide occurred in July 2015. Two men sustained gunshot wounds as they walked along Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson, NJ. One victim, a 24-year-old resident of Paterson NJ, later died due to his gunshot injuries. The other shooting victim, a 26-year-old resident of Paterson, survived the violent incident.

Detectives with the Paterson Police Department conducted an investigation and ultimately identified two suspects. Both suspects were later found in police custody at the Passaic County Jail. They were reportedly being held at the jail on unrelated drug offense charges.

The suspects have been charged with multiple crimes, including first degree murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The second fatal shooting occurred on November 18, 2016. The shooting victim crashed his motor vehicle on Godwin Avenue in Paterson, NJ. When police found the victim, he had already died as a result of his gunshot wound.

Paterson New Jersey detectives investigated the homicide and identified the suspect as a 30-year-old Paterson suspect. That man was recently placed under arrest by police and now faces charges for first degree murder and weapons offenses in connection with the shooting.

Haledon NJ Robbery ChargesHaledon NJ police recently arrested three teenagers who allegedly robbed multiple food delivery drivers.

According to law enforcement, the teenage suspects robbed three victims who were trying to deliver food to homes on the 400 block of Roe Street in Haledon, New Jersey. Authorities believe that the suspects called local restaurants to place food orders and then waited for the drivers to arrive.

The first theft crime occurred on December 12, 2016. The suspects allegedly used a counterfeit $50 bill to pay the delivery driver.

The second theft offense occurred on December 22, 2016. The suspects allegedly held up a different food delivery driver with a firearm. When the victim arrived at Roe Street in Haledon NJ, the suspects threatened him with the handgun.

The third theft offense occurred on December 24, 2016. The suspects allegedly committed another armed robbery of a food delivery driver in the same area.

Police apprehended the suspects on December 27 when two Haledon NJ detectives saw the men suspiciously looking into parked cars. Two of the men were reportedly wearing ski masks at the time. The Haledon detectives investigated and then took the suspects to Haledon police headquarters, where one of the men made a phone call. That’s when quick-thinking cops noticed that the suspect dialed the same number used to order food in two of the food delivery driver robberies.

According to authorities, one of the suspects later admitted his role in the armed robberies. When Haledon officers searched the suspect’s home, they allegedly discovered a handgun.

The three suspects face numerous criminal charges, including armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, and theft of movable property. Beyond that, one of the suspects also faces criminal charges for terroristic threats and hindering apprehension.

Clifton NJ Armed Robbery SuspectsClifton New Jersey police is trying to identify and locate two suspects who allegedly committed separate armed robberies on consecutive days last month.

The first theft offense involved a male suspect and a female suspect who stalked the victim before approaching him in the Botany Village section of Clifton, NJ. The suspects reportedly moved toward the victim as he walked near Arthur Street and Center Street and threatened him with multiple weapons. The male suspect reportedly held a knife and the female suspect reportedly held a handgun when they ordered the victim to hand over his personal property.

Once the suspects had the victim’s wallet and cell phone, they allegedly fled the area on foot and headed toward Ackerman Avenue.

The victim later alerted the Clifton Police Department, which sent officers to the scene of the robbery. However, the suspects were already gone by the time police officers arrived.

The second robbery was allegedly committed just a day later and near the location of the first robbery. This time, a man and a woman walked toward a different victim on Ackerman Avenue, near the intersection with Sears Place, and threatened to shoot him with a handgun.

The male suspect, who wore a ski mask over his face and brandished the firearm, allegedly took the victim’s wallet and other items. Both suspects then fled the scene on foot.

Although it is unclear at this time whether the same suspects committed both robberies, Clifton NJ police is investigating both theft incidents as possibly being connected.

If and when Clifton detectives can identify and capture the suspects, the culprits would probably face criminal charges for robbery. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:15-1, a person who commits a theft while using a deadly weapon such as a knife or handgun can be charged with a first degree crime. A conviction for first degree armed robbery could result in a sentence of 10-20 years in NJ State Prison.

Paterson NJ Murder ChargesNorth Carolina police recently captured a Paterson New Jersey man who was wanted on murder charges out of Passaic County.

The suspect, a 19-year-old man from Paterson NJ, has been accused of fatally shooting someone walking along Hamilton Avenue in September 2016.

After the shooting, the victim was transported via ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Tragically, doctors could not save the victim; he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital. The victim was just 21 years of age at the time of his death.

Since the homicide, law enforcement has been searching for the suspect. The suspect was eventually located at Courtyards Apartments in Wilmington, North Carolina and placed under arrest.

While the suspect awaits extradition back to Passaic County, NJ, he is being held at the New Hanover County Jail in NC.

If the suspect is convicted on the first degree murder charges, he would be subject to severe penalties. The New Jersey Criminal Code imposes a maximum punishment of life imprisonment for murder, with a minimum penalty of 30 years in NJ State Prison.

Paterson NJ police recently arrested an Oradell New Jersey man who allegedly committed an act of domestic violence when he threatened to murder his ex-girlfriend.

The alleged domestic violence incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. at a house near Broadway and East 26th Street in Paterson, NJ. According to authorities, the suspect was in possession of a handgun and used it to threaten his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend.

Paterson NJ police got a report of the domestic violence incident and sent officers to the scene, where they talked to the victims.

Police later tracked down the suspect in a blue Mustang with California license plates. The suspect pulled over in the parking lot of a Firestone on Broadway in Paterson, New Jersey. According to police, the suspect initially refused to exit the vehicle. However, cops eventually managed to place him under arrest without further incident.

When police searched the suspect’s motor vehicle, they reportedly found a Glock model-17 9mm handgun, an assault rifle, multiple ammunition magazines, and a ballistic vest previously reported as stolen from the government.

The suspect is a 34-year-old resident of Oradell. He used to be employed as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer, but the Department of Homeland Security reportedly fired him in 2012.

The suspect has been charged with a number of crimes, including domestic violence harassment, aggravated assault, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
