Paterson police were first tipped off about the suspect’s alleged drug dealing when concerned citizens contacted the Paterson Police Department.

The main suspect, who lives in the Hillcrest section of Paterson, faces multiple drug crime charges, including possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of marijuana near a school zone.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted on the most serious charges of marijuana distribution, he faces significant penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5, anyone who possesses more than one ounce of pot with intent to distribute can be charged with a third degree felony. A conviction for third degree marijuana distribution could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in NJ State Prison.

Paterson New Jersey Shooting InvestigationPolice are investigating a non-fatal shooting of a man who was sitting in his vehicle in Paterson, New Jersey.

According to law enforcement, the 31-year-old victim was shot by a passerby sometime around 6:15 p.m. The victim was sitting in his car near 12th Avenue and East 22nd Street in Paterson, NJ.

The Paterson Police Department received a report of a man who had sustained a gunshot wound somewhere in the area of Broadway and Madison Avenue. When police officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot to his upper arm.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he received medical treatment for his injuries. The victim was later listed in stable condition.

Paterson police detectives spoke with the victim, who told them that he was shot by a pedestrian who approached his vehicle. The suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and brandishing a handgun when he committed the crime.

After being shot, the victim drove to a nearby gas station and got help.

At this time, investigators have yet to identify a suspect in the shooting. If police can eventually determine who committed the shooting, it is likely that serious criminal charges for aggravated assault and weapons offenses would follow. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1(b), anyone who commits an assault with a deadly weapon can be charge with a second degree felony and faces 5-10 years in NJ State Prison.

Paterson NJ Strict Liability Murder ChargesPolice recently arrested two Paterson New Jersey men accused of causing the drug-related death of an Allendale NJ resident.

According to law enforcement, the suspects provided the victim with a fatal dose of heroin. The victim died on January 4, 2014 inside his parents’ house.

Both suspects are 21 years old. The victim was 22 years old and had recently graduated from the University of Richmond.

The suspects were arrested and charged with strict liability homicide. The suspects were also charged with distribution of heroin.

Although it was initially believed that the suspects were on the verge of reaching a plea deal with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, things apparently changed just before the most recent court date. A Bergen County prosecutor appeared in court and told the superior court judge that the suspects were not interested in pleading guilty or accepting a plea offer of six years in state prison.

The suspects will have to make another appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack to face homicide charges in March 2016.

If the suspects are ultimately convicted in the strict liability death of the victim, they could be sentenced to 10-20 years in New Jersey State Prison. That’s because N.J.S.A. 2C:35-9 classifies strict liability homicide as a first degree felony.

Toms River NJ Marijuana Distribution SuspectA Toms River NJ man was busted for marijuana distribution during an appearance in Palisades Interstate Parkway traffic court.

The 26-year-old suspect was in court to answer a speeding ticket he received while driving on the Palisades Interstate Parkway.

Two police officers reportedly spotted the suspect’s vehicle, a Subaru, parked illegally in the parking lot outside the courthouse and the police station. The officers peered inside the vehicle and allegedly noticed marijuana in plain sight.

A subsequent search of the car reportedly led police to find three quart-sized bags of marijuana, a vacuum-sealed bag of pot, six small bags of marijuana, eight jars of pot, a metal grinder, and a digital scale.

According to authorities, the suspect admitted to police officers that he smoked marijuana prior to showing up for his court date.

The suspect was arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses, including possession of marijuana, being under the influence of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The suspect initially faced a fine and possible points on his license for the alleged traffic violation. Now he faces far more severe penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5, the suspect could be charged with a third degree felony because he allegedly had four ounces of marijuana in his vehicle. A conviction on third degree marijuana possession charges could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in NJ State Prison.

After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail in lieu of a $17K bail amount.

Paterson NJ Heroin Distribution AttorneysPolice recently busted a man accused of distributing heroin out of his home in Paterson, NJ.

According to law enforcement, Paterson New Jersey police received a tip about drug activity out of a home located on Mill Street. A Paterson police narcotics unit set up surveillance outside the house and later conducted a raid of the residence.

A search of the 32-year-old suspect’s home allegedly turned up massive amounts of illegal drugs, including more than 5,000 envelopes filled with heroin and 220 bags of crack cocaine.

Additionally, police reportedly seized more than $2,100 in cash, as well as a loaded handgun.

The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with several drug crimes, including possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin near a school, and distribution of cocaine.

The suspect was also charged with a weapons offense because he is reportedly a convicted felon who is not allowed to be in possession of a handgun.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted on the heroin distribution charges, he faces severe penalties. Bloomfield NJ Official Misconduct LawyersTwo Bloomfield NJ police officers were recently found guilty on charges of official misconduct in connection with a traffic stop.

The suspects, a 35-year-old police officer and a 34-year-old police officer, were on patrol when they reportedly saw a Bloomfield resident committing a traffic violation.

The suspects allegedly approached the victim’s car, smashed the driver’s side window, and dragged the victim from the vehicle.

The incident was captured by dash cam footage taken from the patrol vehicle.

The victim was initially placed under arrest and charged with resisting arrest. However, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office later reviewed the video footage and decided to dismiss all charges against the victim.

Moreover, Essex County prosecutors decided to pursue criminal charges against the suspects.

Both suspects were ultimately convicted on a number of charges, including official misconduct, conspiracy to commit official misconduct, tampering with public records, falsifying public records, and false swearing. Additionally, one of the suspects was convicted of simple assault.

After the verdict was handed down, the victim’s attorney told the media that his client was “relieved the jury got it right.”

Now the suspects face significant penalties when they return to Essex County Superior Court in Newark NJ for sentencing. Under N.J.S.A. 2C:30-2, conspiracy to commit official misconduct is classified as a second degree felony. This means that the suspects face sentences of 5-10 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Paterson NJ Robbery AttorneysPolice are searching for three men accused of committing an armed robbery at a grocery store in Paterson, New Jersey.

The theft incident reportedly occurred around 8:30 p.m. According to authorities, the three suspects entered a grocery store located at the corner of East 24th Street and 15th Avenue in the 5th Ward of Paterson, NJ. The area is reportedly plagued by a high crime rate.

One of the suspects allegedly brandished a gun and struck one of the store employees in the head.

The suspects reportedly got away with an unspecified amount of money during the robbery. The suspects allegedly stole cash from the store registers. The suspects also allegedly took cash, iPhones, and a gold chain from the store workers.

The Paterson Police Department was alerted as soon as the suspects fled the store. However, law enforcement was unable to locate the suspects.

The armed robbery occurred around 2:00 p.m. According to law enforcement, the 37-year-old taxi driver picked up the two passengers at Markey Street and Main Street and headed toward Park Avenue and 22nd East Street in Paterson, New Jersey.

When the cab pulled up to the destination, one of the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at the taxi driver’s head and ordered him to hand over all of his cash.

After the victim gave the suspects an unspecified amount of money, they reportedly exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The suspects were last seen heading in the direction of Broadway Street.

When the officer approached the suspect’s car, he allegedly saw what appeared to be a bag of marijuana inside the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the suspect’s vehicle reportedly turned up drug paraphernalia. Additionally, when the police officer patted down the suspect, he allegedly found a small amount of marijuana and 73 Xanax pills.

The suspect has been charged with several drug offenses, including simple possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute prescription drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was also cited for multiple traffic violations.

If the suspect is convicted on the most serious charges of distributing prescription drugs, he could face severe penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10.5, anyone who sells, possesses, or handles more than five prescription pills can be charged with a third degree felony. The woman was placed under arrest and charged with simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, the suspect faces charges for endangering the welfare of a child because her infant daughter was allegedly sitting in the suspect’s vehicle at the time of the arrest. According to officials, the young child was sitting in an unheated car. After the incident, police transported the child to a nearby hospital so that she could be evaluated for exposure to the cold weather.
