West Milford DUI AttorneysWest Milford police recently arrested a Newfoundland NJ man who was allegedly busted for drunk driving.

The suspect is a 26-year-old man from Newfoundland, which is an unincorporated community located in West Milford, NJ. According to law enforcement, the suspect stopped his motor vehicle at a traffic light on Clinton Road at Route 23 South in West Milford, New Jersey.

A West Milford patrol cop drove by and saw that the vehicle was not moving – despite the fact that it was a green light. The suspect looked inside the motor vehicle and reportedly observed that the suspect was behind the wheel and “passed out with his foot on the brake.” The West Milford NJ cop also allegedly spotted an alcoholic drink next to the motorist.

The police officer reached into the vehicle and put the car in park. He then woke up the driver and had him exit the vehicle.

The West Milford police officer reportedly observed signs of intoxication, which prompted him to administer field sobriety tests.

After the suspect allegedly failed the field sobriety tests, he was arrested and taken to the West Milford police station. The suspect was later released to the custody of a family member, but not before being cited for traffic offenses that included Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), careless driving, and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
