Paterson New Jersey Fraud AttorneysThe Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is reportedly conducting an investigation into several companies after reportedly learning that the businesses were committing fraud crimes at the Paterson municipal recycling yard.

According to officials, the FBI has subpoenaed surveillance video footage from the Paterson NJ recycling yard on East 16th Street.

Law enforcement believes that multiple private companies have dumped tires at the yard without paying required fees over the past four years. Tire businesses are supposed to pay between $1 and $5 for each tire left at the recycling yard.

Federal authorities got involved in the investigation after receiving reports that entire trucks filled with tires were being taken to the yard for just $20.

According to investigators, some Paterson public works employees came forward and said that they witnessed tire company employees bribing city employees.

The fraud offenses reportedly proved costly to Paterson taxpayers who have to pay thousands of dollars for companies to pick up tires at the recycling yard.
