Oak Ridge NJ Aggravated Assault LawyersAn Oak Ridge man was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly attempting to run over a pedestrian at a gas station in West Milford, NJ.

According to authorities, the 24-year-old suspect committed the assault a short time before 5:00 a.m. at the Exxon gas station on Lakeside Road in West Milford, New Jersey. The suspect reportedly drove his car at the 22-year-old victim and pinned him against a metal fence. The suspect then allegedly drove away and fled the area.

The West Milford Police Department received a call about the incident and dispatched officers to the scene. West Milford investigators spoke with the victim and looked at video surveillance footage before determining that the suspect’s actions were deliberate. The victim told police that the violent incident stemmed from a verbal dispute that occurred just moments earlier.

West Milford police officers were able to locate the suspect and arrest him. He reportedly resides in Oak Ridge, a community located along the border of West Milford and Jefferson Township, New Jersey.

The suspect was charged with aggravated assault and cited for several traffic offenses, including leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and failure to report an accident.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect secured his release by posting $5,000 bail. He will be required to appear in Passaic County Superior Court, in Paterson, NJ, at a later date so that he can answer the very serious charges against him.
