Paterson New Jersey police are investigating a non-fatal shooting incident on a city street that resulted in the victim being hospitalized.
The violent crime was reportedly committed just after 10:00 p.m. in the area of Summer Street and Oak Street in Paterson, NJ. According to law enforcement, the victim was walking along Summer Street when someone used a gun to fire two gunshots at him.
The victim is a 22-year-old man from Paterson, NJ. He suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and his torso and needed to be hospitalized.
When Paterson cops and paramedics arrived at the site of the shooting, however, the victim was nowhere to be found. He was reportedly rushed via private vehicle to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. Doctors at the hospital treated the victim for his wounds and listed him in stable condition.
Detectives with both the Paterson Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are conducting a joint investigation into the violent shooting. If investigators can identify and apprehend the shooter, he would probably be charged with aggravated assault and criminal weapons offenses, among other crimes.
