Paterson Armed Robbery LawyersPaterson New Jersey cops shot a robbery suspect who was allegedly fleeing police with a firearm.

The shooting incident happened around 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of Market Street and Carroll Street in Paterson, NJ. The Paterson Police Department got a 911 call about a cellphone robbery and immediately dispatched cops to the scene.

When police officers arrived in the area, they ran after the suspect and reportedly exchanged gunfire with him. According to officials, the suspect fired gunshots at the police officers. The officers then reportedly returned the gunfire and shot the suspect.

After the police shooting, the suspect was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.

Paterson police officers reportedly searched the scene of the shooting and came across a handgun. Authorities believe that this was the gun used by the suspect during the armed robbery and the shooting incident.

The suspect has been charged with multiple crimes, including robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest.
