Wayne NJ Theft ChargesThe manager of a hotel in Wayne was indicted by a state grand jury on theft charges.

The suspect is a 43-year-old man from Cliffside Park. While working as a hotel manager at the Fairbridge Inn in Wayne NJ, the suspect allegedly stole more than $1 million and also depleted his boss’ annuity of approximately $600,000.

The suspect reportedly used the stolen funds to buy property in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. According to prosecutors, he later sold the real estate for a significant profit.

The suspect’s boss became aware of the alleged theft in December 2015 and contacted Prudential. The insurance company subsequently notified law enforcement officials, spurring the Office of Insurance Fraud Protection to open an investigation into the suspect

The suspect was eventually arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including theft by deception, money laundering, identity theft, and forgery.

Now the suspect may head to trial after being indicted by a grand jury.
