Paterson NJ police are on the lookout for a suspect in a recent robbery attempt that led to one person suffering serious physical injuries.
The violent theft offense occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. The victim was walking along the 500 block of River Street in Paterson when the suspect approached and asked for money.
The victim declined to give the suspect any money and began to turn his head away. As the victim was looking away, the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab him.
After stabbing the victim, the suspect ran off and fled the area on foot.
Meanwhile, the victim notified local law enforcement and was later taken to a nearby hospital so that he could be treated for his stab wound.
If law enforcement can eventually determine the identity of the robber, he would probably face numerous criminal charges. Depending on the circumstances, the suspect would likely be charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
