Police are trying to identify the person responsible for a shooting at a private party in Paterson, NJ.
The shooting happened around 12:25 a.m. at a house located near 12th Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson, New Jersey. The Paterson Police Department got a 911 call about gunshots fired and sent police officers to the area. When Paterson NJ cops got to the residence, they saw the victim suffering from a serious gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Emergency medical responders briefly treated the victim at the scene before rushing him to nearby St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. Doctors at the Paterson medical facility provided further medical treatment and later said that the victim was in stable condition. The victim is reportedly a 31-year-old resident of Passaic, NJ.
Meanwhile, the Paterson detectives investigated the non-fatal shooting and spoke with witnesses. According to authorities, the victim and the suspect got into a verbal altercation that eventually spilled over into violence.
If police can eventually determine the identity of the shooter, he would probably face serious charges for aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
