Paterson NJ Uzi Gun SeizedPaterson NJ police recently arrested three men accused of being involved in a shooting.

The shooting incident occurred a short time after 7:00 p.m. The Paterson Police Department got a 911 call about gunshots fired on Rose Street near Roberto Clemente Park in Paterson, New Jersey.

When Paterson police officers arrived at the scene, the suspects had already left the area. Police officers talked to witnesses, who told them that the suspects fired at least five gunshots and then sped off in a Toyota Corolla. Paterson cops canvassed the area and found the motor vehicle on East 19th Street.

While searching the car, Paterson NJ cops reportedly discovered an Uzi assault rifle. The submachine gun was reportedly loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition.

The suspects include a 21-year-old Paterson NJ man, a 23-year-old Paterson NJ man, and a 22-year-old Brooklyn man. They were all placed under arrest at the scene.

Paterson Police Director Jerry Speziale announced the arrests and the seizure of the weapon. Speziale said that the suspects face multiple criminal charges, including illegal possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of an assault rifle, and possession of a high-powered magazine.
