Paterson NJ Homicide LawyersPaterson New Jersey police arrested a local man who was wanted in connection with a homicide in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to authorities, the suspect fatally shot someone in Atlanta earlier this year.

The suspect was later captured by Paterson police officers near his residence on Mercer Street in Paterson, NJ. Paterson NJ detectives spotted the suspect walking in the neighborhood and arrested him on sight.

After the suspect was handcuffed and put in the back of a police patrol vehicle, he somehow managed to slip out of his handcuffs and leap from the police car while it was moving. However, the Paterson NJ police officers soon recaptured the suspect.

Paterson police later arrested the suspect’s girlfriend after she was reportedly seen trying to discard evidence in the homicide case. Police officers allegedly saw the girlfriend tossing a gym bag out of her residence. When authorities searched the bag, they reportedly found a .380-caliber handgun that may have been used to commit the murder in Georgia.

The suspect in the killing is a 33-year-old man who lives in Paterson, NJ. He has been charged with first degree murder charges in Georgia. The suspect also faces criminal charges for numerous crimes in New Jersey, including illegal possession of a handgun, a certain persons offense for being a felon unlawfully in possession of a gun, illegal possession of hollow point ammunition, and aggravated assault of a police officer.

The suspect’s girlfriend, a 31-year-old woman from Paterson, NJ, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and hindering apprehension.
