Passaic New Jersey police recently apprehended a man accused of stabbing a person at residence in NY.
The violent incident occurred in November 2015. According to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect grabbed a knife and stabbed someone in the back and stomach at a home in Staten Island NY.
New York law enforcement investigated the incident and obtained an arrest warrant. However, NY authorities could not locate the suspect until now.
Once NY State officials became aware of the suspect’s whereabouts, they notified the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives with the sheriff’s office then tracked down the suspect at a residence located on Aspen Place in Passaic, NJ.
The 42-year-old suspect, who resides in Staten Island, New York, has been charged with assault in NY. Additionally, the suspect has been charged with being a fugitive from justice.
After being arrested and charged in the case, the suspect was taken to the Passaic County Jail in Paterson, New Jersey. He was being held at the correctional facility until officials could extradite him back to NY.
