Paterson NJ Kidnapping SuspectA SWAT team recently captured a man who was wanted for kidnapping, carjacking, and assaulting a cab driver in Ridgewood, NJ.

The violent incident began early on December 26, 2015. According to law enforcement officials, four men hailed a taxi in Paterson, New Jersey and instructed the taxi driver to take them all the way to Waldwick NJ. When the taxi began to pass through Ridgewood, the suspects told the driver pull over. The suspects then allegedly held the driver captive and stole his wallet and belongings.

The suspects reportedly took the cab to the New York State Thruway in Tuxedo, NY, where they allegedly stabbed the victim with a knife and struck him in the face with a handgun.

The victim was later found on the side of the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital, where doctors treated him for his serious injuries.

The FBI and local law enforcement worked together on the subsequent investigation and were able to track down three of the suspects. However, the fourth suspect eluded police until recently.

The fourth suspect, a 19-year-old man from Suffern NY, was found inside his home and placed under arrest by a SWAT team.

The suspect faces multiple criminal charges, including kidnapping, carjacking, aggravated assault, robbery, and weapons offenses.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect was moved to the Passaic County Jail in Paterson, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail in lieu of $400,000 bail.
