Edgewater New Jersey police charged a Hawthorne NJ woman and a Cliffside Park NJ man who allegedly threatened a Target store located in Bergen County, NJ.
The suspects are a 31-year-old woman from Hawthorne in Passaic County NJ and a 33-year-old man from Edgewater in Bergen County NJ. According to law enforcement officials, the suspects placed a phone call to a Target store on River Road in Edgewater NJ and issued a bomb threat.
The suspects reportedly committed the threat crime in June 2016. The source of the threatening phone call was blocked, so it took a while for police investigators to eventually determine the identity of the suspects.
Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crime Unit finally finished their investigation into the bomb hoax and identified the suspects. Law enforcement got arrest warrants for the suspects, resulting in the suspects surrendering to prosecutors.
The suspects have been charged with multiple criminal offenses, including terroristic threats and making a false public alarm.
