Paterson NJ Illegal Handgun LawyersPaterson New Jersey police recently captured a suspected shooter who was found hiding behind a dumpster.

Paterson police made the arrest around 8:15 a.m. According to authorities, a Paterson NJ police officer was on patrol, at a construction site near Summer Street and Broadway, when he heard gunshots.

The officer investigated and was directed by passersby to Hamilton Avenue, where he reportedly saw the 27-year-old suspect walking on the street and in possession of a gun.

After noticing the police officer, the suspect allegedly threw the black handgun to the pavement and ran away. When more Paterson NJ police officers got to the construction site, they set up a perimeter and searched the area for the suspect.

Police officers eventually located the suspect and allegedly recovered a .40-caliber handgun. Sometime later, law enforcement learned that the gun was reported stolen out of Roanoke, Virginia.

The suspect is now subject to a number of very serious criminal charges, including discharging a firearm, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of stolen property.

After the suspect was placed under arrest and charged, the Paterson police director issued a statement commending the arresting officers.
