Paterson Manslaughter LawyersA Paterson man will be spending a long time behind bars after he pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter charges stemming from the shooting deaths of two kids.

The suspect is a resident of Paterson, New Jersey. In 2014, he shot and killed the two underage victims on a Paterson NJ street. According to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect used a firearm to shoot at a van parked in a Paterson NJ neighborhood.

One bullet ricocheted off the vehicle and hit a 12-year-old girl who happened to be riding past on a scooter. The victim was reportedly traveling to a nearby residence for a family gettogether.

The other shooting victim was a 16-year-old boy from Paterson, New Jersey. The suspect, and another man, allegedly targeted the male victim due to an earlier fight.

The Paterson NJ suspect could have faced life imprisonment if he had gone to trial on first degree murder charges and criminal weapons charges. However, he avoided trial in the case by reaching a plea agreement with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspect has now been sentenced to 20 years in state prison. He recently appeared in Passaic County Superior Court, located in Paterson, for the formal sentencing hearing.
