Paterson NJ Homicide AttorneysA New Jersey man convicted of committing a homicide on a Paterson street corner more than 10 years ago has been sentenced to a lengthy term of incarceration.

The suspect was reportedly a member of the Bloods gang when he shot and killed a woman on a street in Paterson, New Jersey. According to federal prosecutors, the suspect and his brother were drug dealers in Paterson and committed the murder as part of a fight over turf with other drug dealers.

The suspect reportedly used a handgun to shoot a man at point-blank range. The victim died almost immediately from his gunshot wounds.

Law enforcement later apprehended the suspect and eventually tied him to the killing.

The suspect recently made an appearance in U.S. District Court in New York for a formal sentencing hearing. The federal judge sentenced the suspect to 25 years behind bars.

In addition to admitting his role in the homicide, the suspect also pleaded guilty to heroin distribution charges.
