Paterson New Jersey police officers recently arrested a local man who allegedly murdered a teen during an armed robbery.
The suspect reportedly committed the homicide just after 5:00 p.m. on February 4. The 17-year-old victim was reportedly walking along Auburn Street in Paterson when the suspect committed the armed robbery.
During the theft crime incident, the suspect allegedly used a handgun to fire multiple gunshots at the victim and a second person. The teen died as a result of the shooting, while the second victim sustained life-threatening injuries and required emergency medical treatment at a local medical facility.
Paterson NJ police detectives investigated the homicide and eventually placed the suspect under arrest. The suspect was apprehended without incident at his home on Anne Street in Paterson, NJ.
The suspect faces a number of criminal charges, including first degree murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, and weapons offenses.
If the suspect is ultimately convicted on the first degree murder charges, he could be sentenced to life imprisonment in NJ State Prison.
