Police are looking for two people accused of fatally shooting a Paterson New Jersey man on city street.
The shooting occurred around 2:00 a.m. this morning. According to law enforcement officials, two men chased after the victim on Broadway, just outside a McDonald’s restaurant. The suspects allegedly used handguns to shoot the victim at least once. After being shot, the suspect fell to the ground.
A witness to the violent incident spoke with Paterson NJ detectives and said that the two suspects were threatening the victim while ordering him to give them money.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene not long after the shooting and transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. Tragically, doctors could not save the victim’s life; he was pronounced dead at the Paterson NJ medical facility.
Paterson detectives investigated the homicide and identified the victim as a 33-year-old man from Paterson, New Jersey.
If Paterson authorities can eventually determine the identities of the shooting suspects, they would probably face criminal charges for first degree murder, armed robbery, and weapons offenses.
