Authorities recently captured a Paterson New Jersey man wanted for attempted murder in connection with a shooting last year.
The suspect allegedly committed the violent crime on September 27, 2016. According to law enforcement officials, the suspect used a gun to fire gunshots at the victim while the victim walked near the intersection of 12th Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson, NJ.
The victim later drove himself to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson and got medical treatment. Hospital employees contacted police and detectives subsequently went to the hospital and spoke to the victim.
The Paterson Police Department, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the US Marshals Service investigated and identified the suspect as the likely shooter.
It took several months, but law enforcement eventually located the suspect. Detectives with the U.S. Marshals Service Violent Crime Task Force arrested the suspect as he exited a cab on Park Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey. According to police, the suspect tried to flee the scene on foot.
The suspect, a 24-year-old Paterson NJ man, faces multiple criminal charges, including attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
