Paterson New Jersey police apprehended two men accused of firing gunshots and attempting to murder someone a couple of weeks ago.
The shooting occurred around 12:00 p.m. on November 19, 2016. According to authorities, the two suspects brandished firearms during a gun battle and fired several gunshots on Godwin Avenue in Paterson, NJ.
Paterson police got a number of 911 calls about gunshots fired on Godwin Avenue, with witnesses indicating that a gun battle was going on. Paterson NJ police officers were dispatched to the scene, where they found evidence of a shooting.
Detectives with the Paterson Police Department conducted an investigation and quickly identified the suspects as possibly having something to do with the shooting. Three days later, the suspects were located and placed under arrest by Paterson NJ police officers.
The suspects include an 18-year-old man and a 22-year-old man. Both suspects face multiple criminal charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy, illegal handgun possession, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
After being arrested and charged, the suspects were remanded to the Passaic County Jail in Paterson, NJ. They were being held at the correctional facility on separate bail amounts of $1 million.
