Haledon Underage Drinking LawyersHaledon NJ law enforcement recently arrested 10 people, including six juveniles, at a local hookah lounge and charged them with offenses related to underage drinking.

The Haledon Police Department launched an investigation after getting multiple complaints about possible underage drinking at Café Diaz on Haledon Avenue in Haledon, NJ. The investigation was called “Operation Smoke” and culminated in more than 20 undercover cops conducting surveillance on the Haledon lounge.

Over the course of roughly seven hours, Haledon detectives arrested 10 people.

Six of the individuals placed under arrest by police were charged with the juvenile offense of underage drinking because they were reportedly consuming alcohol. The minors are from different areas of NJ, including Prospect Park, Passaic, Haledon, Clifton, Haledon, and Bergenfield.

Haledon police officers also arrested a 25-year-old Englewood man who reportedly had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Finally, Haledon NJ police arrested the three owners of the Haledon club: a 29-year-old Paramus resident, a 21-year-old Passaic resident, and a 22-year-old Elmwood Park resident. The business owners have been charged with numerous crimes and ordinance violations, including serving alcohol to minors, maintaining a nuisance, selling tobacco products to minors, and failing to maintain smoke detectors.
