Paterson New Jersey Homicide LawyersPaterson New Jersey police recently apprehended a local woman who allegedly got into an argument with a man and then shot him on a city street.

According to law enforcement, the 22-year-old suspect fired several gunshots at a person who was leaving a house on East 23rd Street, between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue, in Paterson, NJ. The suspect and the victim reportedly got into a verbal altercation inside the residence. When the victim tried to leave, the suspect allegedly followed him outside and used a gun to shoot him in the leg.

The Paterson Police Department got a call about a person who had been shot, so they dispatched officers to the area. When Paterson NJ police officers arrived in the area, they saw the 22-year-old victim lying on the ground.

The victim, who had sustained gunshot wounds to the leg, was rushed to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center so that doctors could treat him for his injuries. The victim was said to be in stable condition after being treated.

Paterson NJ detectives investigated the shooting and talked to the victim, who was able to identify the female suspect as the person who shot him.

Police later arrested the suspect and charged her with a number of criminal offenses, including attempted murder, illegal possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and endangering an injured victim.

The suspect, who lives in Paterson, NJ, faces severe criminal penalties if she is ultimately convicted on the attempted murder charge. A conviction for attempted murder could result in life imprisonment in New Jersey State Prison.

After being placed under arrest, the suspect was transported to the Paterson Police Department’s cell block. She remained at Paterson police headquarters while awaiting a hearing to determine her bail amount.
