Paterson NJ Aggravated Assault LawyersPaterson New Jersey police are searching for a man who allegedly shot a person on a city street.

According to law enforcement, the shooting went down a short time after 1:30 p.m. The Paterson Police Department got a report of gunshots fired near the intersection of 19th Avenue and East 33rd Street in Paterson, NJ.

When Paterson police officers got to the area, they discovered the 32-year-old victim lying in the street. He was suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The victim, who lives in Bloomfield New Jersey, was taken to a nearby hospital so that he could receive medical treatment. Hospital officials later listed him in critical condition.

Authorities said that the victim was shot after he got out of his car. Two men reportedly approached him, with one of the men holding a firearm and firing multiple gunshots in the direction of the victim.

Paterson NJ detectives are currently looking into the shooting. Paterson police believe that the victim was targeted by the suspect.

Law enforcement has not yet identified a suspect in the shooting. If police can eventually determine the identity of the suspect, he would probably face serious criminal charges for aggravated assault and gun crimes.
